Great Coke ad

Coke has not only some good ads, but the music they use is also excellent. It's an element that's overlooked all too often in advertising. Heck, if they turned this into a full-length song I'd buy it on iTunes. There have been a few other tracks to Coke commercials I've liked just as well, but haven't been able to find them yet. I'll post them if I do.

Can you think of ads you've seen with great soundtracks? Leave word in the comments.

  1. My two favorites are the Gears of War video game trailer with Gary Jules' remake of "Mad World" and the Zales Jewelers Christmas commercial featuring Cat Power's remake of "How Can I Tell You". Both are perfect soundtracks for the commercials.

  2. Yeah, I love that commercial. The first time I saw it I immediately recognized the song, too. It's from a movie made back in the 70's called Bugsy Malone. Kind of a cheesy movie, but my family grew up watching it, so it's one of those that I love to watch still. It's a 20's gangster musical and all the actors are kids that play adults. Jodi Foster is one of the main actors. It's worth checking out, if you don't mind the horrible acting.

  3. Brett - If you can find the commercials on Youtube, I'd love to post 'em. E-mail me the links.

Danny - I'm gonna have to look it up. Thanks for the tip. As far as watching the movie...yeah...I'll get back to you. :)

  4. This commercial always makes me smile. Wouldn't life be funny if we seriously just burst out into song randomly like this? And I do like the underlying sarcasm referencing that really violent video game that I play, ahem...have heard of.

  5. raelynn - I don't know what kind of non-animated world you live in, but where I come from, we often burst out into song and choreographed dance. Haven't you ever lived in Happy Valley?
